The 2025 buzzy calendar+tasks launch — gorgeous design, premium pricing, and still finding its feature footing.
Amie is a gorgeous, premium-priced (€15/month) calendar, tasks and email app that launched publicly in 2024 with a strong design-led following. Its interface is best-in-class on macOS. Its productivity feature set is still maturing — no habits, no focus timer, no gamification, no real team layer, Mac-first. LemTask is cheaper at $14.99/month, broader on features and fully cross-platform from day one.
Gamified task management with voice input, AI suggestions, and fun productivity features.
Design-conscious solo professionals who want their tasks living next to a beautiful calendar.

Amie launched in 2024 and immediately became the design-Twitter favourite — gorgeous typography, smooth animations, email and tasks living next to your calendar in a single elegant view. The execution on the calendar side is genuinely best-in-class. The challenge is feature breadth: at €15/mo you're paying premium pricing for an early-stage product that hasn't yet shipped habits, a focus timer, gamification or team features. LemTask sits in a different corner: less aesthetic polish on the calendar, much broader productivity system, and a cheaper paid tier with a real free option. Amie wins for solo design-conscious calendar power users; LemTask wins for everyone wanting a complete productivity stack.
We built LemTask, so we'd love to say it wins everywhere. It doesn't. Here's where Amie is the better pick — honestly.
Genuinely the most beautiful calendar UI in the category — typography, animation and information density are all best-in-class.
Email-in-calendar view is innovative — drag a Gmail thread onto a time slot to schedule it.
Native macOS feel that beats most cross-platform Web apps for daily delight.
Founder-led product with rapid iteration — features ship monthly.
Amie is gorgeous. We're gorgeous AND functional with habits, focus and gamification.
$14.99/mo vs €15/mo — and we ship more features per dollar.
Windows, Linux and Android get the same experience as Mac. Amie does not.
Amie's email-in-calendar view is genuinely innovative. If that workflow matches your day, they win.
"Amie is the prettiest calendar I've ever used. I just couldn't justify €15/mo for a product still adding basic features. LemTask has more for less."
— Léa B., Designer
Switched from Amie
Spin the wheel and see who wins each feature matchup!
A quick, no-data-loss migration in a few steps.
Amie's export is currently per-list — Settings → Export → CSV per list. For the calendar side, your events stay in Google or Apple Calendar (Amie just syncs them) so there's nothing to move.
Settings → Import → CSV. Map title, due date, priority and project columns. For each Amie list, create a corresponding LemTask project so the structure carries over.
Integrations → Google Calendar or Apple Calendar → Connect. Two-way sync is included on the Pro plan. The same calendars Amie was reading will now feed LemTask's day view and timeline.
If you're switching for the productivity features, turn on XP toasts and streak counter. If you came for design and want to keep things quiet, you can disable XP animations and keep only the streak indicator visible.
It depends entirely on how much you value design and the email-in-calendar workflow. If you're a solo professional whose day runs on calendar blocking and you want the most beautiful tool in the category, yes — Amie is genuinely premium-quality. If you want habits, focus timer, gamification or team features, you're paying premium pricing for an early-stage feature set that doesn't yet ship those things.
Yes. Amie exports tasks per-list as CSV (Settings → Export → CSV). Upload via LemTask's Settings → Import → CSV and we map title, due date, priority and project columns. Calendar events stay in Google or Apple Calendar (Amie just syncs them, doesn't store them), so there's nothing to migrate on the calendar side — you reconnect the same calendars to LemTask.
Honestly — no. Amie's design polish is genuinely unmatched in the category, and we won't pretend otherwise. LemTask's UI is clean, modern and consistent across platforms, but Amie wins the pure-aesthetic race. If looking at your task app gives you genuine daily joy, Amie is hard to beat. If you want broader features at a lower price with a still-good-looking interface, LemTask is the trade-off.
Not as deeply integrated — Amie's email-in-calendar view is one of their innovations. Our equivalent is the email-to-task forwarding address (you@in.lemtask.com) so you can forward any Gmail thread into your inbox as a task with attachments preserved. It's a different workflow: forward-to-task vs drag-email-onto-calendar. If the latter is core, Amie wins.
Not currently. Amie is calendar + tasks + email. There's no habit tracking, no focus / Pomodoro timer, no gamification, no review system. If you want any of those, you'd need a second app alongside Amie. LemTask ships all of them as core features in one app at a lower price point, which is the main practical reason most cross-shoppers choose LemTask.
Sort of. Amie has a beautiful native Mac app, native iOS app, and a Web app. Windows runs as a Web wrapper (functional but not native-feeling), and there's no Android app and no Linux client. If your team is mixed-platform, Amie's experience varies a lot per person. LemTask ships native apps on every platform that behave identically.
Only a 14-day trial — there's no forever-free option. After the trial you must pay €15/mo or stop using the app. LemTask has a forever-free tier (10 active tasks, with habits, gamification and focus timer all included) and you can use it indefinitely without paying. For light personal use, that's a meaningful difference.
Honest answer: if you love Amie's design and your needs are calendar-centric, stay with Amie and trust the roadmap — they're shipping monthly and the team is talented. If you need habits, focus timer, gamification, team features or cross-platform parity now, switch to LemTask now. There's no clear timeline for Amie shipping those features, and €15/mo for 'maybe one day' is hard to justify long-term.
We use both LemTask and the competing app daily across personal and team workflows. Pricing is taken directly from each vendor's public pricing page on the date listed below. Feature parity is checked by attempting the same job-to-be-done in both apps (capture, plan, execute, review). When a feature exists but is gated behind a higher tier, we say so explicitly. We also re-read the most recent G2, Reddit and Product Hunt threads about the competitor before publishing.
