Cron's slick calendar, rebranded — but it's still a calendar with a Notion sidebar, not a productivity system.
Notion Calendar (formerly Cron) is a beautiful calendar app with a thin task layer fed from Notion databases. It's not a productivity system. LemTask gives you tasks, projects, habits, focus timer and gamification with calendar sync built in — and ships native apps that work the same on Mac, Windows, Android and Linux. Both have free tiers; Notion Calendar requires a Notion account.
Gamified task management with voice input, AI suggestions, and fun productivity features.
Cmd-K-driven calendar power users who already live inside Notion.

Cron was the most-loved calendar app of 2022. Notion bought it, rebranded it and integrated it with their docs platform — and the resulting Notion Calendar is still the best pure calendar UI on macOS. It is not a task manager. Notion calls the integration 'tasks from Notion databases', which translates to: you get a list of database rows next to your calendar, with no priorities, no habit tracking, no focus timer and no review system. LemTask is what you'd want if you took Notion Calendar's calendar quality and bolted on a real productivity system instead of a documents tool.
We built LemTask, so we'd love to say it wins everywhere. It doesn't. Here's where Notion Calendar is the better pick — honestly.
Scheduling links — pick a slot type and share a URL — are still the cleanest implementation in the category.
Cmd-K command palette is faster than any other calendar app once you know it.
Tight Notion embedding — a meeting can show its full Notion doc inline.
Native macOS app with menu bar widget feels first-class on Apple devices.
We start from your task list and schedule into time. Notion Calendar starts from the calendar.
XP, streaks and habits — Notion Calendar has none of these.
Native apps that work on Windows and Android, not just Mac.
We tell you when to keep Notion Calendar — its scheduling links and Cmd-K UX are still leading the category.
"Notion Calendar is gorgeous on my Mac and useless on my Windows work laptop. LemTask runs the same on both."
— Marcus L., Engineering manager
Switched from Notion Calendar
Spin the wheel and see who wins each feature matchup!
A quick, no-data-loss migration in a few steps.
In LemTask, go to Integrations → Google Calendar → Connect. We pull in all your calendars two-way, exactly like Notion Calendar does.
Export the relevant Notion database as CSV (Notion → ••• → Export → Markdown & CSV). Import via Settings → Import → CSV. We map title, due date, status and priority columns automatically.
Pick one focus task per day. LemTask blocks time on your calendar for it automatically — Notion Calendar requires you to drag manually.
If pick-a-slot links are core to your job, keep Notion Calendar (or Cal.com / Calendly) for that single feature and run LemTask alongside for everything else. There's no conflict.
Yes — Notion bought Cron in 2022 and rebranded it Notion Calendar in early 2024. The core calendar UI is unchanged from late-era Cron. The biggest changes were the addition of Notion task-database integration and tighter sign-in tied to a Notion account. If you loved Cron's calendar UI, the calendar half is still excellent. If you hated being forced into a Notion login, that's the new friction.
Yes. We sync two-way with Google Calendar, iCloud Calendar and Outlook Calendar — all on the free tier. Anything you create in LemTask appears in Google immediately, and vice versa. Compared to Notion Calendar, our calendar UI is less polished but our task and habit layer is significantly richer.
No — that's a feature where Notion Calendar genuinely wins. Scheduling links (pick-a-slot URLs you share with prospects) are best handled by Cal.com, Calendly or Notion Calendar itself. We recommend keeping one of those purely for that workflow and using LemTask for your task and habit system. There's no integration conflict.
Barely. There's a Windows beta that lags significantly behind the Mac client and no native Android app at all — only a mobile Web view. If your team uses Windows or Android devices, Notion Calendar becomes one of those apps where some people get the full experience and others don't. LemTask ships native apps that behave identically on every platform.
Three reasons: cross-platform (Notion Calendar is Mac-first), motivation layer (XP, streaks, habits — Notion Calendar has none), and not requiring a Notion account. If you don't already use Notion as a documents tool, signing into Notion just to use your calendar is friction you don't need. LemTask is its own self-contained productivity stack.
Yes. Export the relevant Notion database as CSV from inside Notion (••• menu → Export → Markdown & CSV → All content), then import via Settings → Import → CSV in LemTask. We auto-map title, due date, priority, status and tag columns. Notion's native sync isn't open to third parties, so CSV is the supported path.
Yes — Ctrl/Cmd + K opens our universal search and command palette. You can jump to any task, list, habit or settings page; create a new task with priority and due date inline; or run common actions like 'start focus session' or 'add habit'. Coverage is broad but not yet at Notion Calendar's depth for purely calendar-related actions.
Yes — both are free at the entry level. Notion Calendar requires a Notion account and any Notion tasks you reference cap at the Notion free-plan limits. LemTask's free tier caps at 10 active tasks but includes habits, gamification and the focus timer. For light personal use, both are zero-cost; for anything serious, both have a paid step at roughly the $10-15/mo range.
