There are 251 working days in Greece in 2024. That's calculated from 366 calendar days minus 104 weekend days and 11 public holidays that fall on a weekday. The remaining 3 public holidays land on weekends and don't reduce the working-day count.
Greece has 2008 working hours in 2024, based on the 40-hour statutory work week (8 hours per day × 251 working days). Source: Greek Labour Code (Law 4808/2021).
14 public holidays fall in 2024: Πρωτοχρονιά (2024-01-01); Θεοφάνεια (2024-01-06); Καθαρά Δευτέρα (2024-03-18); Ευαγγελισμός, Εθνική Εορτή (2024-03-25); Εργατική Πρωτομαγιά (2024-05-01); Μεγάλη Παρασκευή (2024-05-03) and 8 more.
No — only nationwide public and bank holidays defined by Greek Labour Code (Law 4808/2021) are subtracted. Regional, observance, and optional holidays vary by state or canton and aren't included so the headline figure stays consistent for nationwide payroll, billing, and capacity-planning use.
